Joe Myer, our former and longtime Executive Director of NCALL / NeighborGood Partners, passed away in late May. A dedicated and consummate professional, Joe spent his entire career working to improve housing conditions and provide opportunities for individuals and families in need. As a strong advocate and voice for decent, affordable housing and community development, Joe connected with people in Delaware, the region, and nationally. He was also a dedicated member of the Bethany Church of the Brethren in Farmington, DE.
To respect these two important aspects of Joe’s life, the following are two choices for honoring Joe:
1. NeighborGood Partners is creating a Legacy Fund in his honor. The first goal of this Legacy Fund will be for the improvement of what is now known as Mary Street Park in downtown Dover, DE. NeighborGood Partners is collaborating with the Dover City Parks and Recreation Department to redevelop this park. The park needs new playground equipment, removal of dead trees, and improved landscaping to make it more attractive and functional. NGP is helping fundraise for the costs of the renovations which will be in the range of $150,000. The park was recently expanded, with NeighborGood Partners donating an adjacent parcel to enlarge it. The renovated park, combined with four adjacent houses that we just built, will make this northwest corner of the Restoring Central Dover initiative a community anchor and neighborhood asset. Your gift helps continue the work Joe believed in so deeply, such as renovating the park and ongoing affordable housing work. 2. Donate to his church by sending a check or contacting them directly at:

Please help us preserve Joe’s memory and the many blessings he bestowed on us all.
