Three NeighborGood Partners Leaders Earn National Board Governance Certification

NeighborGood Partners is proud to celebrate three members of our team who recently completed the NeighborWorks America Excellence in Governance (EIG) Academy and earned the NeighborWorks America Board Governance Leader Certification. Board member Amy Walls, Loan Fund VP Dave Callahan, and Real Estate Development VP Patricia Kelleher successfully completed the nationally recognized program, which includes more than 60 hours of governance training over an 18-month period.

The Excellence in Governance Academy is designed for nonprofit board members, executives, and board support staff who are committed to strengthening their leadership skills and advancing effective nonprofit governance. Through peer learning, practical resources, and collaborative discussions, participants develop the knowledge and tools needed to help organizations make informed, strategic decisions that better serve their communities.

Strong governance is essential to the long-term success of any nonprofit organization. It helps ensure thoughtful leadership, responsible stewardship, and a clear focus on mission. By investing in professional development opportunities like the EIG Academy, NeighborGood Partners continues to strengthen its ability to create lasting impact across Delaware.

"We're incredibly proud of Amy, Dave, and Patricia for their dedication to professional growth," said Karen Speakman, CEO of NeighborGood Partners. "Their commitment to strengthening their leadership and governance skills reflects the values of our organization and ultimately helps us better serve the communities that count on us."

The certification recognizes leaders who demonstrate a strong understanding of governance fundamentals, value diverse perspectives, and are prepared to guide organizations with confidence and accountability.

NeighborGood Partners congratulates Amy, Dave, and Patricia on this outstanding accomplishment and thanks them for their continued leadership and commitment to our mission of strengthening communities through housing, lending, education, and community development.
