NeighborGood Partners is seeking two AmeriCorps VISTA members to join our team for a year of service, professional growth, and community impact. About the Positions:

AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer – RCD Outreach 

Reports To: Community Development Manager

Line of Business: Restoring Central Dover

Location: Dover, Delaware
FLSA Status: Full-time with living allowance and other VISTA benefits

​

Position Summary:

NeighborGood Partners (NGP) is a statewide affordable housing and community development agency committed to creating strong, sustainable communities where individuals and families thrive. NGP leads the Restoring Central Dover (RCD) initiative, a community revitalization initiative that empowers residents, addresses community challenges, and fosters leadership. With a focus on building affordable housing, engaging neighbors, and improving the social determinants of health, NGP is making a lasting impact in a vibrant neighborhood with few community assets.

Beginning in August 2026, the VISTA Outreach Organizer will join NGP for a year of full-time service to build capacity within the RCD initiative. This position focuses on engaging residents, recruiting and training neighborhood ambassadors, and implementing revitalization plans based on identified community needs. The VISTA will seek grant opportunities, support leadership training for volunteers, and foster partnerships that sustain long-term growth. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about community development, affordable housing, resident empowerment and creating lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with outreach to recruit resident volunteers and ambassadors for the Neighborhood Resident Ambassador Program.

  • Assist in the development of leadership training sessions for resident volunteers, covering community revitalization, resident engagement, and leadership skills.

  • Attend workshops, meetings, and community events to establish a rapport with stakeholders, residents, and volunteers.

  • Collaborate with staff, residents, and community partners to identify needs, expand resources, and build sustainable initiatives.

  • Analyze survey data to identify key community needs and develop a timeline for revitalization activities.

  • Assist in implementing projects based on survey outcomes, including expanded revitalization efforts and resident-led initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants need to be at least 18 years old

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

  • Access to a car recommended

AmeriCorp VISTA Volunteers – Consumer Services Outreach VISTA

Reports To: Consumer Services Administrator

Line of Business: Consumer Services

Location: Dover, Delaware
FLSA Status: Full-time with living allowance and other VISTA benefits

Position Summary:

NeighborGood Partners (NGP) is a statewide affordable housing and community development agency committed to creating strong, sustainable communities where individuals and families thrive. The NGP Consumer Services line of business provides clients with homeownership education, financial coaching, and assistance in preventing foreclosure.

​

Beginning in August 2026, the Consumer Services Outreach VISTA will join NGP for a year of full-time service to build organizational capacity to expand access to financial capability programs, sustainable homeownership, and housing stability opportunities. The VISTA member will enhance outreach systems, partnerships, volunteer engagement, marketing, and sustainability efforts to increase long-term impact and service reach. The role focuses on developing systems and resources that improve organizational effectiveness rather than providing direct client services or case management. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about financial education, community development, affordable housing, and creating lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of NeighborGood Partners’ programs, community impact, and stakeholder network to support future capacity building efforts.

  • Develop an internal resource guide and create a partnership tracking system to document our outreach efforts and opportunities for collaboration. 

  • Develop and formalize at least five strategic partnerships that support organizational growth, referral development, volunteer recruitment, and program sustainability.

  • Create a sustainable volunteer engagement infrastructure that supports expanded workshop capacity and community outreach efforts throughout Delaware.

  • Assess current financial literacy education offerings and develop a sustainable curriculum that ensures workshop topics remain responsive to the evolving needs, interests, and financial challenges of the target population.
