About the Position:

The Marketing and Communications Manager is a content-creator responsible for developing, organizing, managing, and delivering strategies and materials that build affinity and engagement among our customers, stakeholders, and the public. Ensures that all marketing and communication efforts reflect and adhere to NeighborGood Partners’ standards. Works with senior management to develop strategies that will help the organization reach its goals for each line of business. Develops content for a wide range of platforms, including social media, websites, e-news, print and digital materials, and public relations for marketing and communication goals. Supports event planning and community engagement.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Supervisor: Executive Director

 

Location: This position will be based in NeighborGood Partners’ Dover, DE office.

​

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

​

  • Leads the strategy, development, execution, and measurement of all marketing and communications activities

  • Conceptualizes, manages, and executes multiple campaigns/projects through a variety of channels and platforms

  • Develops and communicates a deep understanding of NeighborGood Partners’ mission and purpose to ensure focus and consistency

  • Crafts value-driven messaging and marketing strategies that resonate with the public, as well as current and prospective supporters

  • Works and collaborates directly with the management team, and occasionally with other marketing/communications professionals to help achieve objectives

  • Develops brand and core messaging, including but not limited to, annual impact reports, brochures, reports, flyers, direct mail, ads, press releases, web material, social media posts, video content, e-mail promotions, and others as appropriate

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Brand Advancement

  • Responsible for understanding and executing NeighborGood Partners’ brand

  • Monitors and ensure that brand guidelines are followed consistently across organization; revise brand guidelines as necessary

 

Creative Content Production

  • Create a comprehensive annual marketing and communication calendar

  • Develop print and digital communications that strengthen NeighborGood Partners’ brand presence and engage target audiences, including press releases

  • Prepare meeting and event materials such as agendas, slideshows, and reports for various meetings/events.

  • Design and maintain NeighborGood Partners’ website and ensure the information is up-to-date and relevant to audiences by coordinating with staff

 

Digital Marketing/Online Administration

  • Generate social media content and provide daily monitoring and response

  • Develop a monthly blog

  • Record, track, interpret and report social media analytics to inform leadership and future strategies

  • Maintain photo files and ensure proper uploading and labeling of images

 

Internal and External Communications

  • Recommend communication plans and activities to most effectively reach target audiences and provide effective solutions for consumers

  • Provide written editorial, branding, and technical materials for in-house and public dissemination

  • Work with staff to foster excellent customer support and online public engagement

 

Resource Development Support and Administrative Duties

  • Design marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and events: Love your Neighbor, Giving Tuesday, Do More 24, Workplace Giving, Raise the Roof and more as needed

  • Implement donor acknowledgment and outreach through digital platforms

  • Maintain marketing and communications records, files, and statistics

  • Regularly report on progress of assignments

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

​

Required

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree, and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a marketing/communications-related field

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing marketing plans, online and in print, and in the development, management, and distribution of print and online materials and communication tools, and the use of varied marketing media and channels

  • Proven written communications skills: able to compose polished business emails, web content, and marketing materials

  • Proven verbal communication skills with ability to interact well with the public, media, stakeholders, staff, and volunteers

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenges and perform duties in a diplomatic fashion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access or other database system)

  • Proficiency in Internet applications, including web design and maintenance, WordPress and Wix, and a variety of social media platforms

  • Proficiency with design applications including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva

  • Position requires use of personal vehicle for localized travel; and employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of automobile insurance.

 

Preferred

  • Background in English, public relations, marketing and/or communications

  • Nonprofit experience

  • Knowledge of and contacts in Delaware’s media outlets and nonprofit sector a plus
