Consumer Services, a line of business within NeighborGood Partners, provides Pre-Purchase Counseling, Foreclosure Prevention Counseling, Rental Housing Assistance, Financial Education and Stand by Me Financial Coaching.  

 

About the Position:


NeighborGood Partners has an immediate opening for a skilled and creative professional with administrative, consumer service, and data entry experience to provide intake services for customers seeking to purchase a house and to assist the Homeownership Counseling Coordinator with maintaining the client file documentation within NeighborGood Partners web-based client management system.  This is a part-time position with this Line of Business.

Employment Status: The position will be a part-time employee of NeighborGood Partners

​

Immediate Supervisor: Homeownership Counseling Coordinator

​

Location: This position will be based in our Newark, Delaware office.

​

Duties and Responsibilities:

​

  • Responsible for assisting the Homeownership Counseling Coordinator to support the Homeownership  Counseling Program of NeighborGood Partners.

  • Support New Castle County office up to 25 hours per week. 

  • Perform Homeownership/Pre-purchase Intake duties to include, but not limited to contacting client, collecting and uploading documents, printing, scanning and placing in file, verifying information, etc.

  • Data-entry into Web-based Client Management System (CMS).

  • Responsible for file preparation, assembly and entry of documents received from client i.e., paystubs, tax returns, bank statements, credit report, etc.

  • Assist with collecting closing documents i.e., sales contract, home inspection, mortgage application, Loan Estimate, Closing Disclosure, etc.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work and travel will be required.

  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Homeownership Counseling Coordinator or Consumer Services Director.

 

Qualifications:

​

Ideal candidates for this position will share a passion for and commitment to serving the mission 
of NeighborGood Partners and will bring a variety of experiences and attributes to the organization, including:

​

  • High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) and minimum 2 years work experience with a nonprofit, social services, government agency or private sector. 

  • Empathy and understanding for the low-income people and communities served by NeighborGood Partners 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Proven written and verbal communications skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and professional skills in handling challenges and job performance.

  • Bilingual ability a plus but not required for this position.

  • Courteous and professional manner in dealing with the public and co-workers.

  • Able to multi- task and work independently
